Mental Healthcare for Children
When your child is struggling, you want to understand what is happening and how to help. Roots & Wings Mental Health offers a welcoming place to discuss your concerns and explore next steps together.
We provide telehealth psychiatric evaluations and medication management when clinically appropriate for children ages 4 and older in Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, and Oregon.
Understanding Your Child
Parents may reach out with questions about worry, attention, behavior, sleep, mood, or changes at school and home. You do not need to know the cause before asking for help.
An evaluation considers your child’s development, health history, daily routines, strengths, and current concerns. We listen to caregiver observations and involve your child in ways that fit their age and ability to participate.
Working With Parents and Caregivers
You know your child in ways a single appointment cannot capture. Your observations help us understand what has changed, where difficulties occur, and how they affect your family.
We will discuss your questions and goals, explain our recommendations, and identify practical next steps. When useful, we may recommend gathering information from your child’s school or other treating professionals.
Thoughtful Treatment Planning
Recommendations depend on the evaluation and your child’s individual needs. Options may include education, supportive strategies, referrals, or medication when clinically appropriate.
If medication is recommended, we will discuss its purpose, potential benefits, possible side effects, and monitoring needs. Follow-up visits allow us to review your child’s response and any concerns.
Convenient Telehealth Visits
Choose a private space where you and your child can participate comfortably. Have a current medication list and any information you would like to discuss nearby. We will provide appointment instructions before your visit.
Your child must be physically located in Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, or Oregon during the appointment.
Fees and Getting Started
We are a self-pay practice. Reduced fee options available. Visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for fees and payment information.

Telehealth appointments are not an emergency service. If your child is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
